Know Your Budget - You’ve probably heard this before but it's a very important tip when you’re looking for your wedding dress. Your wedding gown is the centerpiece of your wedding day, and you want to look fabulous! The risk of falling in love with a dress out of budget is high. Knowing your budget before shopping will help you stay away from dresses that are over your budget. Keep in mind for your dress budget additional items like veil, accessories, and alterations. Those items can be separate but if you want your entire dress budget to include those items then the budget for dress should be slightly lower to accommodate for them.

Do Your Research - Your stylist will have a certain number of designers they carry on their racks. But shopping without doing your research will not only confuse you but also overwhelm you. Pinterest is a great way to help you search for the look you want on your day. We recommend using Pinterest as a guide to get an overall vibe for your day and to share your board with your stylist beforehand so that they can have a better understanding of the look you are wanting.

Shopping Early - Placing an order can take between 6-8 months. You’ll also want to factor 2-3 months for alterations. Therefore 8-12 months prior to your date is the perfect time to book an appointment. If you don’t want to cause yourself some “panic at the disco” worrying about shipping delays, we suggest you start to shop for your dress as soon as you can. Typically that is after you have set a date and picked a venue.

Be Open with other Looks and Trust your Bridal Stylist - Even though you’ve done your research and you’re set on a style, don’t forget to be open to silhouettes or styles that your stylist suggests. Share your ideas with your stylist and give honest feedback while trying on the different fits and styles. The Stylists are skilled professionals and they know what it takes to find the perfect dress for your special day. Trust their advice and their process. It is your journey that the stylist will help you navigate.
